Ride by the natural “Vicentina” park, towards south, and discover the beautiful beaches, viewpoints, fauna and flora of this protected area. A bike tour in the sunny Alentejo and Algarve coastline, suited for every type of rider, where you’ll have the time to relax in the beaches, soak in the atmosphere and unwind in this peaceful and quiet region.

We will meet you in our Lisbon office to provide you with a detailed briefing for your tour, hand you over the GPS with preloaded tracks, detailed routebook and all the gear and support.
After the private briefing and bike fit, you can start riding south on the same day or the next day. The following days you will be riding south to Arrábida Sierra, Setúbal, Tróia, Sines and then enter the Vicentina Natural Park, discovering most beautiful coastline in the country, by Vila Nova de Milfontes, Zambujeira do Mar, Odeceixe, Aljezur, Carrapateira, exploring the beautiful viewpoints, gastronomy and beaches in the area. Arriving in Sagres, you will end your adventure with a high note, at the southernmost point of Portugal.
Day 0: Meeting at our warehouse in Lisbon for private briefing;
Day 1: Lisbon - Setúbal (option to take the train to Azeitão) or start riding right away;
Start your ride with a ferry-boat trip from “Cais de Sodré terminal” to “Cacilhas, Almada” where the GPS starting point is located. From here you'll start riding south in an urbanized area for around 15 kms until you reach a much quiet road that will lead you to Cabo Espichel lighthouse viewpoint. Also here you can enjoy the majestic cliffs where land meets the Atlantic ocean. Back on the same road for a few km's you'll keep riding southeast in the sierra of Arrábida Natural Park, a unique landscape always overlooking it's crystal clear blue water beaches and a perfect spot for a coffee break and snack. leaving the natural park you'll reach Setúbal, where your hotel, Rio Art is located.

Day 2: Setúbal - Sines (79km);
After breakfast at the hotel, your ride will start with a quick ferry-boat trip from Setúbal to Tróia peninsula. Once in Tróia, you are already in the Alentejo region - time to enjoy the beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal clear blue water. Back on the road, ride south and pass trough “Melides” to check out the local rice fields and it’s unique fauna. Back on track, you’ll pass near “Lagoa de Santo André”, where you can make a detour and enjoy it´s lagoon separated just a few meters from the ocean. Leaving this area, you´ll be riding by the road until you reach Sines, where your hotel is located. After checking-in we suggest you to take a walk around the city and enjoy the Castle, overlooking the bay.

Day 3: Sines - Vila Nova de Milfontes (43km)
After breakfast, your ride will take you further south, until Moinho da Asneira, your first hotel, in Vila Nova de Milfontes. First, you'll go through São Torpes and Samouqueira, 2 beautiful beaches where you’ll feel like taking a dive in the ocean (take your swimming gear with you). After Samouqueira lays the picturesque village of Porto Covo, that you should ride through and stop for a coffee or snack at the main town square. Right after Porto Covo you’ll enter the trail that goes around the small fishing port and continues along the coast to Pessegueiro Island. From there you’ll enter the asphalt road until you reach your hotel near Vila Nova de Milfontes.

Day 4: Vila Nova de Milfontes - Aljezur (58km)
After breakfast at your hotel, start riding towards Vila Nova de Milfontes, a small town with beautiful beaches all around where we recommend visiting the lighthouse. Leaving town, you’ll begin your ride following the trail that leaves Vila Nova de Milfontes towards Cabo Sardão. There’s some magnificent views of the Ocean all the way to Zambujeira do Mar, where you can enjoy a meal by the village center. After leaving the village you’ll keep riding south towards Odeceixe - once you arrive, you are already in the Algarve region! When you turn right to Odeceixe, go all the way to it’s beach to enjoy the beautifull views of this area where the river meets the ocean to form a long sand bank just great to go for a swim. From Odeceixe you will follow small roads, trails and canals that will lead you to Aljezur. After checking in at your hotel, take the time to visit the city center,

Day 5: Aljezur - Carrapateira (26km);
After breakfast, leave your hotel passing by Aljezur’s center, and climbing all the way to the top of the Castle towards “Monte Clérigo” beach and then to Vale da Telha and Arrifana, to witness this spectacular cliff and view of the Portuguese coastline. Afterwards, you’ll ride by a gravel road in a forested area that will lead you through the Sierra and the forested natural park till the top. Once on the top and along the gravel road you'll find your hotel for the day, the Barranco da Fonte rural house and hotel.

Day 6: Carrapateira - Sagres (44km);
After breakfast, start riding south along the coast to the village of Carrapateira, with its wonderful beach that you’ll be able to admire from the lookout points along the cliffs. Just ahead, you’ll see the Amado and Bordeira beaches – it’s difficult to choose the most spectacular - so stop for a coffee or beer and enjoy the view and atmosphere. keep riding inland, until you reach the asphalted road. From here you will ride up and then down to Vila do Bispo. In Vila do Bispo you can opt to make a right turn for a little loop towards Castelejo beach and viewpoint. Tracing back to Vila do Bispo, enter the beautiful unpaved road towards the sea, to Cape St. Vicent, a rocky headland with a lighthouse considered to be the southwestern edge of Portugal, with great views over the coastline – looking north, you’ll be able to admire the trails and roads you rode throughout the tour! After that, keep riding south towards Sagres and the Baleeira beach, where your drop off point for the bikes and gear is located.
End of tour (optional night in Sagres)

- Private briefing and bike fit upon your arrival at our Lisbon warehouse, on the starting day or day before the ride;
- Road book with suggestions of restaurants and attractions during your tour;
- 1 GPS with previously loaded tracks, adapted to your riding experience (1 GPS per 4 pax);
- Cellphone contact with for remote assistance by our guides;
- Bike helmet and other gear (tire levers, extra inner tubes and spares);
- Rear rack with 2X20L saddle bags so you can carry your own luggage;
- Ride insurance (for accidents only);
- Luggage storage at our Lisbon warehouse during the tour;

Yes, you can, as these are private self-guide tours, for you and your group only. Subject to availability.
How many people are required to book?
We accept bookings for a minimum of 2 guests on our self-guided bike tours.
Do you require downpayment? When is the total payment due?
We require a downpayment of 50% of the value of the tour upon booking. The remaining value us due 30 days before the start date of your tour.
What are the accepted payment methods?
We accept payment via Paypal and any other major credit/debit cards. Payment for all tours and rentals are made entirely upon booking, and online

What's your cancellation policy for bike tours?
If you need to cancel or change your bike tour to unexpected circumstances, our cancellation policy follows below:
- Bike tour cancellation requested 120 days before tour:
100% of the value payed is refunded; - Bike tour cancellation requested between 119 to 90 days:
60% of the value payed is refunded; - Bike tour cancellation requested between 89 to 30 days:
50% of the value payed is refunded; - Bike tour cancellation requested 29 days, or less, before the tour:
No refunds;
