From here you'll start riding south in an urbanized area for around 15 kms until you reach a much quiet road that will lead you to Cabo Espichel lighthouse viewpoint. Also here you can enjoy the majestic cliffs where land meets the Atlantic ocean. Back on the same road for a few km's you'll keep riding southeast in the sierra of Arrábida Natural Park, a unique landscape always overlooking it's crystal clear blue water beaches and a perfect spot for a coffee break and snack. leaving the natural park you'll reach Setúbal, where your hotel, Rio Art is located.

Hotel for the day: Rio Arte, Setúbal

Day 2: Setúbal - Sines (79km);

After breakfast at the hotel, your ride will start with a quick ferry-boat trip from Setúbal to Tróia peninsula. Once in Tróia, you are already in the Alentejo region - time to enjoy the beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal clear blue water. Back on the road, ride south and pass trough “Melides” to check out the local rice fields and it’s unique fauna. Back on track, you’ll pass near “Lagoa de Santo André”, where you can make a detour and enjoy it´s lagoon separated just a few meters from the ocean. Leaving this area, you´ll be riding by the road until you reach Sines, where your hotel is located. After checking-in we suggest you to take a walk around the city and enjoy the Castle, overlooking the bay.

Hotel for the day: Hotel Sinerama, Sines

Day 3: Sines - Vila Nova de Milfontes (43km)

After breakfast, your ride will take you further south, until Moinho da Asneira, your first hotel, in Vila Nova de Milfontes. First, you'll go through São Torpes and Samouqueira, 2 beautiful beaches where you’ll feel like taking a dive in the ocean (take your swimming gear with you). After Samouqueira lays the picturesque village of Porto Covo, that you should ride through and stop for a coffee or snack at the main town square. Right after Porto Covo you’ll enter the trail that goes around the small fishing port and continues along the coast to Pessegueiro Island. From there you’ll enter the asphalt road until you reach your hotel near Vila Nova de Milfontes.

Hotel for the day: Moinho da Asneira, Vila Nova de Milfontes

Day 4: Vila Nova de Milfontes - Aljezur (58km)

Leaving town, you’ll begin your ride following the trail that leaves Vila Nova de Milfontes towards Cabo Sardão. There’s some magnificent views of the Ocean all the way to Zambujeira do Mar, where you can enjoy a meal by the village center. After leaving the village you’ll keep riding south towards Odeceixe - once you arrive, you are already in the Algarve region! When you turn right to Odeceixe, go all the way to it’s beach to enjoy the beautifull views of this area where the river meets the ocean to form a long sand bank just great to go for a swim. From Odeceixe you will follow small roads, trails and canals that will lead you to Aljezur. After checking in at your hotel, take the time to visit the city center,

Afterwards, you’ll ride by a gravel road in a forested area that will lead you through the Sierra and the forested natural park till the top. Once on the top and along the gravel road you'll find your hotel for the day, the Barranco da Fonte rural house and hotel.

Hotel for the day: Barranco da Fonte, Carrapateira

Day 6: Carrapateira - Sagres (44km);

After breakfast, start riding south along the coast to the village of Carrapateira, with its wonderful beach that you’ll be able to admire from the lookout points along the cliffs. Just ahead, you’ll see the Amado and Bordeira beaches – it’s difficult to choose the most spectacular - so stop for a coffee or beer and enjoy the view and atmosphere. keep riding inland, until you reach the asphalted road. From here you will ride up and then down to Vila do Bispo. In Vila do Bispo you can opt to make a right turn for a little loop towards Castelejo beach and viewpoint. Tracing back to Vila do Bispo, enter the beautiful unpaved road towards the sea, to Cape St. Vicent, a rocky headland with a lighthouse considered to be the southwestern edge of Portugal, with great views over the coastline – looking north, you’ll be able to admire the trails and roads you rode throughout the tour! Pedro and his team could not have been more helpful over the two years that we tried to ride the Portugese Camino. It was put back twice because of COVID. Nothing was too much trouble, and they credited us each time we had to postpone. When we eventually started (March 2022) the bikes were brilliant and top-notch - over 620km they were faultless. Drop off in Santiago was easy. I could not recommend this company highly enough. They were excellent. And I proposed to my (now) fiancee Rachel in the square in front of the cathedral. And she said yes! Strange things happen on the Camino! Thanks again Guys - you were brilliant in all aspects of your support. Roger and Rachel xx

We hired bikes for 2020 but could not start the Portugese Camino until April 2022. Pedro and his team could not have been more helpful and honoured our credit in full. The bikes were top class and we had no issues. I could not recommend Pedro and his team highly enough. Roger and Rachel.

It was the 1st time (but not the last) i worked and ordered 5 bicycles with Gocyclingportugal. I have to confess, as the organiser of a Tour from Porto-Lamego-Lisbon and back, I was not sure that the bicycles would be at the airport on time so that we could start the Tour immediately from there after landing in Porto. My friends would hate me for the rest of my life, if not 🤣. But Pedro and his teammate were on time. Once again thanks Gocyclingportugal. Everything went right and we were happy to ride on Scott Addict bikes! 👌🏼🚴🏼‍♂️ GG
