Itinerary

Day 0: Meeting at our bike station in Porto

Private briefing, bike fit and delivery of bikes and gear for the tour at our Porto bike station;

Briefing can also be scheduled to the starting day of your tour (day 1);

Day 1: Porto - Ovar (50km)

Your self-guided adventure begins in Porto, one of Europe's most beautiful historic cities. After collecting your bike and equipment (which you can do the day before during the briefing), cross the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge and leave the city behind as you follow the Atlantic coastline south.

Ride through the colourful fishing village of Afurada before joining quiet coastal cycle paths and roads that hug the ocean. Stop at the striking Senhor da Pedra Chapel, built directly on the rocks overlooking the Atlantic, then continue through sandy beaches, pine forests and peaceful seaside landscapes. Near Espinho, take a short walk along the wooden boardwalks to enjoy the dunes and coastal scenery before continuing towards Ovar.

After your first day on the bike, relax in Ovar and prepare for another spectacular stage along Portugal's Silver Coast.

Night in three star hotel in Ovar.

Day 2: Ovar - Mira (69km);

Today's ride continues along Portugal's beautiful Silver Coast, following quiet roads and scenic cycle paths through lagoons, dunes and peaceful fishing communities.

Pedal past colourful beaches and nature reserves before crossing the Ria de Aveiro, one of Portugal's most unique coastal lagoons. Along the way, you'll discover traditional fishing villages where colourful wooden boats and seafood restaurants reflect the region's maritime heritage.

Your destination is Aveiro, often known as the "Venice of Portugal" thanks to its picturesque canals and elegant Art Nouveau architecture. Spend the afternoon exploring the historic centre, watching the traditional moliceiro boats glide through the canals or tasting the city's famous ovos moles.

Night in three star hotel in Mira;

Day 3: Mira - Figueira da Foz (48km);

Today's route follows the Atlantic coastline towards one of Portugal's best-known seaside towns. Quiet roads and cycle paths lead you through forests, dunes and stretches of unspoilt coastline where the sound of the ocean is never far away.

Pass through small villages before arriving in Figueira da Foz, a lively coastal destination famous for its expansive beaches, elegant promenade and vibrant waterfront.

After checking into your hotel, enjoy a walk along the beach or relax with fresh seafood while watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

Night in three star hotel in Figueira da Foz;

Day 4: Figueira da Foz - Nazaré (85km)

Start your day riding south from Praia de Mira along quiet backroads and bike lanes. You'll pass through serene coastal forests and agricultural fields, enjoying the natural beauty of the region. As you ride through the Leiria National Pine Forest, you'll experience the longest bike lane in Portugal, a stunning 70 km stretch that leads you through peaceful landscapes. Your first stop could be the tranquil Lagoa de Ervedeira, a serene lagoon surrounded by lush pine trees. From there, continue to Praia do Pedrógão, a charming beach village perfect for a break. The route then takes you further south to Praia da Vieira, another coastal gem known for its wide sandy beach.

As you approach Nazaré, you'll pass by the picturesque São Pedro de Moel, a traditional summer retreat with beautiful coastal homes and a historic seaside pool. CLimb to the top of "Sítio", in Nazaré, in search for the massive waves that have made this a hotspot for big wave surfing, and then arrive in the lively town of Nazaré, where you can explore the beach or relax by the sea.

Night in three star hotel in Nazaré;

Day 5: Nazaré - Óbidos (45km)

Leaving Nazaré behind, continue south at your own pace as today's route follows a combination of quiet country roads and coastal scenery towards one of Portugal's most beautiful medieval towns.

Ride through traditional villages before reaching the spectacular Óbidos Lagoon, Portugal's largest coastal lagoon and an important nature reserve. This peaceful setting is the perfect place to stop and enjoy the scenery before turning inland towards Óbidos.

Entering the fortified walls of Óbidos feels like stepping back in time. Explore its cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, independent shops and historic castle, or sample the famous local Ginjinha served in a chocolate cup.

Day 6: Óbidos - Santa Cruz (67km);

Today's ride combines rolling countryside with spectacular Atlantic coastline as your self-guided journey continues south towards Santa Cruz.

Leave the medieval walls of Óbidos behind and cycle through vineyards, farmland and quiet rural roads before rejoining the coast. Along the way, take a break at Praia da Areia Branca, one of the region's most attractive beaches, where cafés overlooking the ocean provide an ideal lunch stop.

Finish the day in the relaxed seaside town of Santa Cruz, known for its dramatic cliffs, wide sandy beaches and laid-back atmosphere. It's the perfect place to unwind before the final stage of your cycling adventure.
