How can I rent a bike?

Booking is done online, not onsite. Just choose your preferred dates, bikes, gear and your preferred pick-up location (Lisbon/Porto) and drop-off bike stations. Our online inventory is up to date, so you'll be able to check availability in real time for the bikes of your preference.

How do I check for availability for bikes?

Our online inventory is up to date, so you'll be able to check availability in real time for the bikes of your preference. Just start the booking process and if the bikes is available for those dates, you can book it.

Can I rent a bike directly at your store?

No, as booking is done online, not on site. Our bike stations are used merely for pick-up and drop-off of bikes that have been previously booked on the website.

Do you rent bikes per day or per hour?

Duration of the rentals is measured per day, as we do not rent bikes per hour. So, if you rent a bike for a duration inferior to 24hours, we'll charge you for full-day and you can enjoy the bike until the defined drop-off time. If you decide to rent one day and drop-off on the next day, we'll charge a two day rental, and you can use the bike for the full duration of those days.

Can I pick-up and drop-off bikes at the same or in different bike stations?

Yes, you can pick-up a bike at our Porto and Lisbon bike stations and either drop them off at the same spot you rent it from or drop them off in a different bike station such as Lisbon, Porto, Évora, Albufeira, Faro or Santiago de Compostela.

Is there a cost for picking up bikes at one bike station and dropping them off at another bike station?

Yes, we charge 60EUR per bike for picking up at one bike station and dropping them off in another, to handle the shipment of the bike back to it's origin store.

Where can I pick-up and drop-off the bikes?

You can pick-up and drop-off bikes at any of our associated bike stations in several destinations in Portugal.

Do you deliver bikes outside of your bike stations?

No, we do not have that service available.

If I want to pickup and drop-off at the same store, is it necessary for me to make a reservation or can I just show up to rent bikes for the day?

We only accept bookings online, not on our bike stations - please check availability and book ahead! We do not have front store open at all times, our warehouses are for pick-up and drop-off of bikes only.

Is the booking concluded after payment?

No - after payment, we'll be sending you an e-mail with a link to our bike rental agreement, where you need to fill in your information, after which the booking is concluded.

What type of gear does a bike rental include / not include?

All bike rentals includes, other than the bike of your choice: a saddle bag, mini tool kit, spare tire, tire levers, bottle cage, bike lock and platform pedals. A bike rental does not include a helmet rental, handlebar bags, water bottle or specific platforms, as those are gear that some riders already bring on their adventures - they are, however, available to add to your rental.

How can I add a helmet and other bike gear to my rental?

Just browse the available gear while you are renting your bike and add it to the cart. You'll find helmets, pedals, handlebar bags, panniers and other bike related solutions.

What's the bike frame size that's more correct for me?

The size of a bike frame depends on the specific measures of the rider. There maybe be riders who are in between size frames and, depending on their leg inseam, they maybe be more comfortable with a smaller or larger bike frame size. On each bike tab, while renting online, under the "info" tab, you'll find a bike measurement chart, where you can check the size that is most appropriate for you.

Does the price for the bike rental vary according to the duration?

Yes. We offer automatic discounts based on the rental duration.
The longer you rent the bike, the better the rate. Any applicable duration discount is automatically applied to the final price shown in our booking system.

What's your general cancellation policy for bike rentals?

If you need to cancel or change your bike tour to unexpected circumstances, our cancellation policy follows below:

- Bike rental cancellation requested 120 days before tour:
100% of the value payed is refunded;

- Bike rental cancellation requested between 119 to 90 days:
80% of the value payed is refunded;

- Bike rental cancellation requested between 89 to 30 days:
60% of the value payed is refunded;

- Bike rental cancellation requested 29 days, or less, before the tour:
No refunds;

What are the accepted payment methods?

We accept payment via Paypal and any other major credit/debit cards. Payment for all rentals are made entirely upon booking, and online.

  Great communication for the start - clear and friendly emails. Short taxi ride from Lisbon airport. Pedro greeted me and got me sorted for my journey. Breathtaking ride up coast to Porto. Bike was perfect for all conditions and performed flawlessly. Dropped it back at Porto premises and, again, Pedro greeted me.   Pedro and his team could not have been more helpful over the two years that we tried to ride the Portugese Camino. It was put back twice because of COVID. Nothing was too much trouble, and they credited us each time we had to postpone. When we eventually started (March 2022) the bikes were brilliant and top-notch - over 620km they were faultless. Drop off in Santiago was easy. I could not recommend this company highly enough. They were excellent. And I proposed to my (now) fiancee Rachel in the square in front of the cathedral. And she said yes! Strange things happen on the Camino! Thanks again Guys - you were brilliant in all  aspects of your support. Roger and Rachel xx

  It was the 1st time (but not the last) i worked and ordered 5 bicycles with Gocyclingportugal. I have to confess, as the organiser of a Tour from Porto-Lamego-Lisbon and back, I was not sure that the bicycles would be at the airport on time so that we could start the Tour immediately from there after landing in Porto. My friends would hate me for the rest of my life, if not 🤣. But Pedro and his teammate were on time. Once again thanks Gocyclingportugal.
